Should You Plan For Aerobic Exercise?

Consider how you can feel breathless when going up a flight of stairs quickly—your body is showing the need for oxygen. “Aerobic” means “with oxygen,” and aerobic fitness, otherwise referred to as cardiorespiratory endurance, pertains to how well your body is able to take in oxygen and put that oxygen to use. Activities that involve large-muscle groups engaged in dynamic movement for prolonged periods of time are considered aerobic. Your cardiovascular system (heart and blood vessels) and your respiratory system (lungs and air passages) work together during longer-duration activities to supply working muscles and organs with the oxygen they need.
